This morning I was cleaning around the house. Dusting here, dusting there, putting away little things that I came upon into their little spots where they belong. I came across some things that were given to me this past Christmas. A trollbead, tea pot and a lovely crystal pitcher. Little did I know back then would things start taking on a new meaning to me now. I see things in such a different light. Someone saw these little things and thought I would love them and give them a wonderful home. They were so right. As I was putting away things and clearing a chair of clutter I came across a package that was from a cross stitch store that had been mailed back in January. I was wondering what it possibly could be. I didn't remember not receiving anything but January and February were such a blur to me anything was possible really. To my surprise it was a cross stitch pattern that I had found and fell in love with. It is me written all over it! So cute and can't wait until I can start it.
I was thinking about the up coming holidays and just can't wait. I absolutely love Halloween and then comes Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now if the heat would just go away I'm missing those nice cool fall temps and the changing leaves. It all starts with the kidos going back to school, I get so excited because I know the cooler temps are just around the corner now. Anna is getting use to the "big" school and adjusting to life as a 6th grader. She now has no problem getting her locker open and tells me "It's easy mom!" She has lots of homework. I help her with math when I get home from work each night. I'm enjoying spending that time with her going over how to work the problems. Good quality time and I'm loving it!
I actually took Thursday, Friday and Monday off. So glad I don't have to go to work on Monday! I started to knit a swatch for Anna's sweater and just need to wash and block it. I'm really hoping that it will be a fast knit for me. I plan to work on it nights while watching TV. I just love to sit down in front of the tube and knit along on something. So relaxing.
While off on Friday I treated myself to the book store and got Ina Garten's cookbook family style. The recipes look so good and for once reasonable for the average household. I hate getting a cookbook and the recipes are either too cumbersome or require 4 or 5 odd ingredients that you know you will never find in the grocery store. I've made my list for the store and am planning to try the spaghetti and meatballs. Yum. I will let you know what I think. I also wanted to get a good book to read. I remembered not too long ago watching the movie "Angels & Demons" and since I've never read any of Dan Brown's books I thought I would start with the first one that he writes and introduces Professor Langdon. I was thinking it would have been the Divinci Code but it actually is Angels & Demons. I'm not a big reader of books and have a hard time getting into them but I'm hoping since I've seen the movie and like those I will like reading them. I have such a hard time sitting still for any length of time and that doesn't help.
Well I need to get back to cleaning this house so that I can enjoy the rest of my time off. Mustard of course is helping me!
