I've been working on the Holiday Workshop from the July/Aug 90 Cross Stitch & Country Crafts magazine for quite a while now and finally it is finished! It is worked on DMC Ecru 25 count evenweave linen. Best I can tell is I started working on it early 2010. The above was where I was at in July 2010. I have worked on and off for so long that I have no idea of how many hours I've put into it.
5/2012 - All of the tools and their many details and the start of Santa's hat!
Sept 2013 - Got busy on working with the desk and shelves here.
Oct 13 - Then there's a hint of Santa's beard!
Nov 2013 - It's truly starting to come together! Santa is done and started on the roof of the doll house :)
Started backstitching May 2014 with the tools.
5-17-14 - Still a ways for the backstitching to be complete.
So are you ready???
Do you want to see it in all its glory??
I'm so excited to show you Holiday Workshop I can bearly contain myself!
Ta- Dah!!!!
Isn't it just gorgeous! I'm just so tickled pink! I can't believe it's done. It was so worth it :)
Here's a close up of the top so you can see some of the details. You can click on the images and get a bigger picture to come up.
And the bottom. :) I wish I had done better journaling or blogging on this but didn't really start my blog until last year or so. I'm going to need to do better keeping up with the progress of other WIP's through my blogging!
Thanks for letting me share with you my stocking!
Barbara
Hi Barbara,
It's lovely, really worth all those years and hours. I'm glad it's not just me that takes so long to complete a cross stitch although I have attempted linen before. I'm still on the Aida.
Happy stitching

Wow! It's stunning! I have a few embroidery and cross stitch projects that need finishing, that have been in the works longer than I care to say.lol

Thanks for the compliments on the stocking! They are so worth it! I've started on my stocking finally and will have photos posted of it for the WIPocalypse today. I need to put my projects into some sort of rotation now. I keep wanting to work on the ones that are close to finished. But this week I mainly worked on some new ones I started.
