Today Steve and Anna went out to pick strawberries out at the Gurosik's Farm. They had a great time and came home with some of the sweetest berries I've had in a long time. This was the first time we've gone to the berry farm and we will definately be back for more. I was able to freeze one gallon and had lots left over just for snacking. I had my treatment Thursday so I didn't feel up to going but hopefully next time I will. They also brought home a delishious looking loaf of cinnamon pecan bread too.. can't wait until I try that.
My orchid is finally blooming. It blooms about once a year if I'm lucky! I enjoy it so much when it does. Makes the house just seem to glow don't you think? Love how it is speckled with pink and white. Steve gave this to me one mother's day a few years ago and I've managed to keep it alive. Seems to really like this table. I can sit on my stitching chair and enjoy all this color. Love it!
Speaking of stitching this is what I've been up to lately. I just finished backstitching the toolbox there. I just love how a cross stitch comes together once you get the backstitching done. Just adds so much don't you think? The only thing I noticed is I made a mistake and used a wrong color thread for one of the symbols! I decided to leave it alone. Do you see it? The hammer and the wooden tool of some unknown that I have not the slightest knowledge of what it could be? That bit of dark blue there should be dark brown. Oh well you can tell it was made with love and all hand stitched so there you are. Not perfect but neither am I :p
It's been so nice this weekend too bad I'm stuck here at home inside under the weather but at least I'm surrounded by my lovely family and have some stitchy time to play around with colorful threads!
Have a great rest of the weekend and see you soon.
