The kitties just crack me up most mornings. Let me first introduce you to these two. The one at the window that would be Frannie. She's the young one that likes to get into trouble all the time and can be found perched at the window like this off and on during the day. She's watching birds and squirrels. The one in the chair is Mustard. She is our elderly cat and you will now find her in these chairs most of the day.
Well I did it! I started cutting out these gorgeous fabrics into their 4 inch squares! I ended up cutting one of the ends into 3 inches so that made me have to go to the fabric store. Oops! Anyway I picked up two more fabrics and a fat quarter to fill in when I make these mistakes. There are 10 different fabrics in all but since I goofed mine will have 11 different ones. Hopefully it won't look too odd with a couple of different squares in the whole thing. I guess that is what gives things like this character right?
Aren't they just the prettiest thing to see all lined up in their stacks! Real eye candy seeing them ready to be sewed together. I'm getting excited to get this put together. It's my first quilt and a bit nervous how it will do for me. We will see. I think it will be pretty straight forward. I'm using a quilting pattern I got from Alicia Paulson and I'm loving her pattern! I bought one of her ornament pattern kits late last year and will be making those as a present for my mom and aunt for Christmas to go in their new house. I can't wait! I'm going to be gifting one of these sets each year.
My plan for today is to work on cutting more of these squares for the quilt and then start on another knitted log cabin square. If I have some time to spare I may work on that ornament kit too. I will just have to see how far I get today.
Thanks for visiting!
